A blog for people interested in severe weather, storm chasing, and meteorology. Nic Roberson and Dean Davidson are the main authors and forecasters behind Storm Squad’s Weather Blog. Since 2010, Nic and Dean’s experience in forecasting has allowed many successful intercepts for Storm Squad, as well as informing the public of severe threats before they strike.
Dean Davison has been forecasting for twenty years, and has been SkyWarn certified for over twenty-five years. Dean is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association (NWA). He is currently the NWA Local Chapter Committeeman until 2021, and served as a founder and Vice President of the AMS Chapter for Philadelphia DE Valley from 2003 until 2006. Dean is also the founder of the Blue Ridge Chapter for the NWA and AMS. Dean currently resides in Vinton, Virginia.
Dan Whittaker is the founder of Storm Squad. He has been chasing tornadoes and strong storms for over eight years, and received his degree in photojournalism. He has been involved in a lightning research project with BBC, and his images and videos of storms have been published internationally in magazines, news, and TV shows. Dan helps operate the blog and creates documentation of the storms chased by Storm Squad. Dan resides in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Nic Roberson is an experienced and passionate forecaster from Greensboro, North Carolina. With over eight years of forecasting, Nic’s passion for education and learning have put him in the spotlight as a key speaker at numerous presentations. Nic has traveled across the country in search of severe weather, and has documented and reported many tornadoes and severe weather events.
